Hotels, tourist accommodation and holiday homes are licensed by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, and municipality and tourism fees apply to hospitality bills. Oman's two-peak calendar, with a winter high season in the north and a summer monsoon high season in Salalah, is the defining national feature for pricing.
Rates are set in Omani rial (OMR), pegged to the US dollar and priced for net revenue after channel fees. Channels: Airbnb, Booking.com and Expedia, with hotels and resorts the main supply.

Muscat's touring season opens with cooler weather plus European cruise and winter-sun guests, so I lift weekends and the National Day holiday while keeping weekdays competitive.
Muscat Nights and the European winter break make this the strongest stretch in the north, so I hold rates firm, cut back discounts and set two-night weekend minimums.
Heat builds and Western touring fades, so I move Muscat towards Gulf weekenders and monthly stays, and price each Eid as a short premium of its own.
The monsoon turns Salalah green and draws Gulf families, so I give Dhofar its own premium calendar with longer minimums while northern floors stay modest.

Rarely, because the two peaks belong to different regions. A Muscat home is strongest from October to March, while a Salalah home earns most during the khareef. Mountain homes on Jebel Akhdar are the exception, catching summer weekenders and winter tourists, so I price them on two separate seasons.
Many book months ahead, especially for any Eid that falls in summer, while others decide much closer to the date. I release the season with confident rates, watch pickup closely through June and only adjust if bookings are clearly behind the pace of the previous year.
