Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Windsor. Windsor and Ascot sit within easy reach of Heathrow and London, so demand mixes castle tourists, racegoers, Legoland families and airport travellers. Royal Ascot in June is the week that sets the year, and it books far ahead at levels nothing else matches. Legoland drives school-holiday family stays during its open season, and weekdays lean on airport and business demand. I price each of those guests separately instead of blending them into one rate.
For a Windsor or Ascot owner I review the racing, royal and Legoland calendars, check the true competitors around the property and set targets for each season. I also look closely at cancellation terms for the June race week, because a late cancellation on those nights is the most expensive gap of the year.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Windsor.
