Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Cardiff. Cardiff and Wales are two markets. Cardiff is rugby and concerts at the Principality Stadium, with one or two-night stays. Pembrokeshire and Snowdonia are weekly cottage markets. Wales also requires holiday lets to be let for a minimum number of days a year to avoid higher council tax, which shapes strategy.
For a Welsh owner I check the 182-day position and council tax risk first, then split Cardiff event pricing from rural cottage pricing. We decide how many short breaks are needed to hit the threshold, which match weekends earn a premium, and how summer weeks should be sold.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Cardiff.
