Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of The Lofoten Islands. Lofoten is scarce and spectacular. Traditional rorbuer cabins on the water sell out in the midnight-sun summer and the aurora and cod season in February and March. The islands are remote, so shoulders need careful floors. Weather and travel logistics mean guests value flexibility and clear arrival information. The islands are long, so location near Reine or Svolvær should be reflected in price too.
For Lofoten owners I look at waterfront position, village, access and seasonality before setting rates. I then build a year that captures the midnight sun and aurora peaks while setting careful floors for the quiet shoulders, so the property earns well without discounting away its scarcity.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in The Lofoten Islands.
