Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Omaha. Omaha has two of the most distinctive event weeks in the country. The Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting fills the city on the first weekend of May, and the Men's College World Series brings baseball families to Charles Schwab Field for most of June, with demand shifting as teams are eliminated. Between them, CHI Health Center conventions, the medical centre and the Old Market keep weekdays steady. I price both peaks early and let the bracket guide late-June pricing.
For an Omaha owner I map the two big weeks first, then the medical and corporate base underneath them. We agree how early to open Berkshire and College World Series dates, what minimum stays to start with, and how quickly to react when the bracket changes, so June is managed rather than guessed.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Omaha.
