Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Whidbey Island. Whidbey Island has a summer island peak and a steady military base. Seattle couples fill summer weekends in Langley and Coupeville, while Naval Air Station Whidbey Island brings military and contractor stays all year. Penn Cove MusselFest adds March. The island rewards owners who price summer weekends well and treat the naval base as a year-round customer. Doing only one of those leaves a lot of the calendar underused.
For a Whidbey owner I look at which end of the island the home serves, then split the calendar between summer leisure, MusselFest and DjangoFest weekends, and year-round naval-base stays. We agree on minimum stays, monthly pricing and winter floors so the home stays busy outside summer.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Whidbey Island.
