Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of The Black Forest. The Black Forest has two seasons: summer hiking around Titisee and winter skiing at Feldberg, with Freiburg's Christmas market as a city highlight. Families and walking groups stay four to seven nights. November is the gap. Freiburg itself behaves like a city break, while Titisee and Triberg are holiday bases. I price them separately and make sure both seasons carry a premium rather than just summer.
For a Black Forest home I first decide whether it is a city break, a ski base, a summer lake house or all three, then build a year that gives each season its own price level. I also review guest cards, spa tax, access and stay rules for your village.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in The Black Forest.
