Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Death Valley. Death Valley is a small lodging market with a long drive between every bed. Inside the park there are only a few properties at Furnace Creek, Stovepipe Wells and Panamint Springs, so most road-trippers sleep in Beatty, Pahrump, Amargosa Valley or Lone Pine. Guests stay one or two nights and book around a route, not a resort. I price the cool months firmly, keep summer open for European heat-seekers, and watch park road closures closely.
For a Death Valley gateway owner I map which route your guests are on, which beds in the park and nearby towns compete with you, and how road closures and blooms shift demand. Together we set the season curve, one-night rules and summer floor, and I show you what to watch each week.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Death Valley.
