Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Nairobi. Nairobi and the Kenyan coast have different guests. Nairobi sells pre- and post-safari nights and NGO and conference stays, while Diani and Watamu sell beach holidays. Great Migration season is the top period. The long rains are quiet. Safari guests often arrive late or leave early for flights, so flexible check-in and airport access are worth highlighting and pricing for.
In Kenya I help owners decide what a property is really for: a launch pad for safaris, a base for aid and conference work, or a holiday home on the Indian Ocean. Once that is clear, I review your rates, minimum stays and listing details against the right guests and build a calendar around rains, migration and school holidays.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Nairobi.
