Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Tallahassee. Tallahassee has two engines that barely overlap: Florida State football in the autumn and the Florida Legislature in the late winter and spring. Session brings lobbyists, staff and press who need a month near the Capitol, while Seminoles home games at Doak Campbell bring alumni for two nights. Graduations for FSU and Florida A&M stack up in May and December. I set monthly session rates first, then lay game and graduation premiums over the top.
For a Tallahassee owner I start with the legislative calendar, because the year's shape depends on whether session opens in January or March. We then layer football, graduations and summer housing on top, agree floors and stay lengths together, and I show you how to judge a monthly inquiry against the short stays it would displace.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Tallahassee.
