Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Julian. Julian is a small backcountry town with a concentrated autumn peak. Apple harvest and pie season bring San Diego and Los Angeles visitors, and rare snow days create sudden spikes. Stays are short. Most guests stay one or two nights and drive in on the weekend. Getting apple-season Saturdays right and filling the nights around them is where most of the revenue comes from.
For Julian and backcountry owners I look at the whole year, not just the apple weeks: how winter storms are handled, whether summer weekdays are wasted, and how cabins compare with homes in town. Then we agree a plan that captures autumn properly without leaving the other nine months to chance.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Julian.
