An Airbnb pricing strategy is the set of rules that decide what each night is worth: base, minimum and maximum prices, seasons, events, minimum stays, gap nights, last-minute pricing, length-of-stay discounts and channel markups. The tool applies the rules; the strategy is what makes the tool worth having. Smart Pricing is not a strategy, because it optimizes for Airbnb's fill rate and knows nothing about your events or other channels.
What I plan around in Mauritius: European winter sun; Honeymoon and wedding travel; South African and Réunion holiday calendars; Kitesurfing in Le Morne. Guests I price for: European couples on 7 to 14 night stays, South African families in winter. Where I start: Weekly villa pricing, holiday premiums, and a South African winter strategy.
I set up Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo with weekly-first pricing, changeover days that avoid awkward gaps, and French-language content where it matters. In PriceLabs or Wheelhouse I configure separate seasons for the cyclone months and the southern winter, so the tool does not treat Mauritius like a Mediterranean beach.
The service in general is described on my airbnb pricing strategy page; this page covers how I apply it in Mauritius.
