Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Portsmouth. The Seacoast is really two markets sharing one short coastline. Portsmouth is a dining and history town that sells weekends almost all year to Boston couples, while Hampton Beach and Rye are summer family beaches that still think in Saturday-to-Saturday weeks. I price the two on separate curves, check zoning before anything else in Portsmouth, and treat October foliage and December's Candlelight Stroll as the weekends that stop winter from being a write-off.
For a Seacoast owner I start by deciding whether the home is a Portsmouth weekend product or a beach-week product, then we build the zoning check, tax registration, summer week structure and winter plan around that answer. You keep control of the calendar and I give you the reasoning behind every rule we set.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Portsmouth.
