Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Walla Walla Wine Country. Walla Walla is a wine-weekend market with two big release periods. Spring Release and the Balloon Stampede in May, and harvest with Fall Release in autumn, fill the town. Weekdays are quiet. Visitors mainly come from Seattle and Portland for a couple of nights. The difference between a good and a poor year here is usually how well the release weekends and harvest are priced.
For a Walla Walla owner I review the permit and the home's position near tasting areas, then rebuild release weekends, harvest pricing and midweek floors. We agree on minimum stays and seasonal plans together so the calendar works across spring, autumn and the quieter months when Seattle and Portland visitors stay home.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Walla Walla Wine Country.
