Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Mackinac Island. Mackinac Island is one of the most seasonal markets anywhere. It is car-free, reached by ferry, and busy only from late spring to early autumn. The Lilac Festival in June and the Labor Day Bridge Walk are the key events, and July and August are full. In winter, most lodging closes.
For a Mackinac owner I map the whole five-month season week by week, decide when to open and close, and set separate logic for the island and the two gateway towns, so every bookable night in a short year is earning what it should.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Mackinac Island.
