Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Wichita. Wichita calls itself the Air Capital of the World, and that shows in its rentals. Aviation contractors, engineers and trainees come for weeks or months to work with Textron Aviation, Spirit AeroSystems and the other plants, while McConnell Air Force Base adds military travel. Riverfest in early June, INTRUST Bank Arena events and Wichita State athletics lift weekends. I build the base on monthly contractor rates and add event premiums on top.
With a Wichita owner I begin with the guest who can pay the bills in February: the contractor. We set monthly terms, deposits and furnishing standards for them, then layer Riverfest, arena and university weekends on top. The plan stays simple, so the owner can follow it without daily changes.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Wichita.
