Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Augusta. Augusta is two markets sharing one address. For one week in April the Masters turns ordinary family homes into corporate hospitality houses, booked whole and often through brokers a year ahead. For the other fifty-one weeks the city runs on Fort Eisenhower, the medical district and Augusta University, with guests who want a clean, quiet place for a week or a month. I treat Masters week as a separate negotiation and build everything else around steady, professional weekly stays.
Working with an Augusta owner, I begin with the April decision: who sells tournament week, on what terms and at what level. Then we plan the other eleven months around the medical, military and university guests who actually keep the home occupied, so the year does not depend on one booking.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Augusta.
