Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Donegal. Donegal is a self-catering county. Families from Northern Ireland and the rest of the island book whole weeks in July and August, and the July holiday fortnight in the North fills the coast early. Outside summer it turns into a weekend market for Derry and Belfast, with surfers in Bundoran and walkers at Slieve League. I price summer as weeks, the shoulder as weekends, and treat visitors from across the border as a core audience.
For a Donegal owner I review registration, the mix of family weeks and weekend breaks, and how the property compares with true neighbours on its stretch of coast. I leave a calendar with summer weekly rates, shoulder weekend rules and a winter plan that keeps occasional bookings coming.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Donegal.
