Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Westport. Westport is a small town with outsized holiday demand. It fills on Irish family holidays, couples on weekend breaks and cyclists on the Great Western Greenway, and bank holidays plus Reek Sunday at the end of July are the dates that sell first. Achill and the wider Mayo coast run more on weeks, while the town runs on two and three-night breaks. I keep those calendars apart and price every bank holiday as a peak.
For a Westport or Mayo owner I review registration, weekend and weekly pricing, and how the property compares with real neighbours in town, on Achill or along Clew Bay. I leave a calendar with bank holiday targets, summer weekly rules and a winter plan that keeps the property ticking over.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Westport.
