Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Amarillo. Amarillo is a pass-through market. Road-trippers on Interstate 40 and Route 66 stay one night, sometimes two, on their way elsewhere, while Palo Duro Canyon and the TEXAS musical bring summer visitors. The main job is making one-night stays easy and profitable.
For Amarillo owners I focus on making short stays profitable: one-night pricing, sensible cleaning fees and fast turnovers. Then I add summer canyon premiums and weekly rates for medical and industrial workers, so the property earns from both passing and longer-stay guests.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Amarillo.
