Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Buffalo. Buffalo and the American side of Niagara Falls are two markets about twenty miles apart. The Falls sell one or two nights to sightseers, many of them international, from late spring into October, and the US side is bought for convenience and value rather than the skyline view across the river. Buffalo runs on Bills and Sabres dates, Canalside summers and architecture weekends. I keep the two on separate calendars and let the Bills home schedule, not the month, set autumn weekends.
With a Buffalo or Niagara Falls owner I first decide which market the home really belongs to: Falls sightseeing, city events or Southtowns game days. We then build the Bills calendar, summer gap rules and winter floors together, and I explain the reasoning behind each choice so you can keep running the plan after our engagement ends.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Buffalo.
