Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Norman. Norman is a Sooners town first. Home Saturdays at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium carry the year, and the move to the SEC has brought a new mix of visiting fan bases. Commencement in May, the Medieval Fair and the Norman Music Festival add spring weekends, and the Women's College World Series up the road in Oklahoma City fills early June. December to February and July are slow. I tier games by opponent and keep winter floors honest.
For a Norman owner I begin with the Sooners schedule and the opponents' travelling support, then build the quieter months around Oklahoma City events, research visitors and summer stays. We agree bands, minimum stays and floors together, and I show you how to judge a Tuesday booking from a visiting scientist against holding the date for a weekend.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Norman.
