Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of São Paulo. São Paulo is Latin America's business capital. Weekdays are corporate, and weekends depend on events like the Grand Prix, Lollapalooza and big concerts. January and July are quieter as locals travel. The city is huge, so short travel times to business districts or event venues are often the deciding factor for guests and should be reflected in price. I keep weekend event pricing separate so corporate rates do not undersell concert and race weekends.
For a São Paulo apartment I measure commute times to the business hubs, check building rules and see how weekdays and weekends are priced against each other. Then we plan around fairs, stadium concerts, the Grand Prix and the empty Januarys and Julys, with a target for each.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in São Paulo.
