An Airbnb pricing strategy is the set of rules that decide what each night is worth: base, minimum and maximum prices, seasons, events, minimum stays, gap nights, last-minute pricing, length-of-stay discounts and channel markups. The tool applies the rules; the strategy is what makes the tool worth having. Smart Pricing is not a strategy, because it optimizes for Airbnb's fill rate and knows nothing about your events or other channels.
What I plan around in Galena: Autumn leaf-peeping across the Driftless bluffs; Chestnut Mountain skiing and tubing; The Galena wine trail and Main Street weekends; The Halloween Parade and holiday home tours. Guests I price for: Chicago and eastern Iowa couples on 2 to 3 night romantic getaways in historic Main Street inns and bluff-top cabins, with heavy autumn weekend compression. Where I start: Peak-foliage weekend premiums, two-night minimums for the drive-in couples market, and orphan-night rules that fill Sunday-to-Thursday gaps.
For Galena hosts I configure PriceLabs or Wheelhouse together with you: foliage weekends set as their own premium season, gap rules that release two-night holes midweek, and lead-time settings that suit couples who book about a month out, applied the same way on Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com.
The service in general is described on my airbnb pricing strategy page; this page covers how I apply it in Galena.
