Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Laughlin. Laughlin and Mesquite are winter towns built for people who stay a long time. Snowbirds arrive in autumn and leave in spring, golfers fill Mesquite's courses through the cool months, and casino weekends add short stays on top. Most rentals sit across the river in Bullhead City or in Mesquite's golf communities, competing with very cheap casino rooms. I sell winter by the month, price River Run week on its own, and keep summer simple.
For an owner in Laughlin, Bullhead City or Mesquite I sort out the balance between winter monthly guests, rally visitors and summer weekend boaters. We decide which months to commit to long stays, how to handle returning snowbirds and what the home should earn in the heat.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Laughlin.
