An Airbnb pricing strategy is the set of rules that decide what each night is worth: base, minimum and maximum prices, seasons, events, minimum stays, gap nights, last-minute pricing, length-of-stay discounts and channel markups. The tool applies the rules; the strategy is what makes the tool worth having. Smart Pricing is not a strategy, because it optimizes for Airbnb's fill rate and knows nothing about your events or other channels.
What I plan around in Costa Dorada: PortAventura World and Ferrari Land; Salou and Cambrils family beaches; Sitges festivals, Carnival and Pride; Tarragona Roman sites and Barcelona day trips. Guests I price for: Spanish, French and British families on weekly summer stays, and Barcelona weekenders in Sitges. Where I start: Summer weekly rates, event premiums and Catalonia's tourist licence rules (HUTT numbers).
I set up the pricing tool so July and August weeks in Salou and Cambrils, the PortAventura Halloween and Christmas weekends and the Sitges event calendar run as separate rules, the Catalan tourist tax shows correctly in totals, and the quiet winter weeks get realistic floors.
The service in general is described on my airbnb pricing strategy page; this page covers how I apply it in Costa Dorada.
