Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Inverness. Inverness is a staging post. Most guests are on the North Coast 500 or a wider Highland loop and want one or two nights before moving on, so I build the calendar around short stays rather than weeks. Summer is strong and fairly simple; the skill lies in pricing single nights well, treating lochside homes around Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus differently from the city, and keeping the dark months from going completely silent.
For an Inverness or Loch Ness owner I review licence conditions, the mix of single-night and longer stays, and how the property compares with true neighbours around the loch or in the city. I leave a calendar with summer, autumn and winter targets and clear rules for how short a stay the property should accept.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Inverness.
