An Airbnb pricing strategy is the set of rules that decide what each night is worth: base, minimum and maximum prices, seasons, events, minimum stays, gap nights, last-minute pricing, length-of-stay discounts and channel markups. The tool applies the rules; the strategy is what makes the tool worth having. Smart Pricing is not a strategy, because it optimizes for Airbnb's fill rate and knows nothing about your events or other channels.
What I plan around in Val d'Isère: The Espace Killy ski area; Tignes glacier skiing; Critérium de la Première Neige World Cup races; Summer hiking and lake activities in Tignes. Guests I price for: British and French ski groups on weekly stays and late-season skiers. Where I start: Weekly ski pricing, late-season premiums and resort taxe de séjour.
I configure the pricing tool for weekly stays in peak, shorter stays at the edges, a separate summer calendar for Tignes, and snow-led review points in March so April rates do not slide too soon. Taxe de séjour is set correctly per guest.
The service in general is described on my airbnb pricing strategy page; this page covers how I apply it in Val d'Isère.
