Hotel revenue management consulting is an independent review followed by a plan. I look at 12 to 24 months of your own data, shop your comp set, and find where rates, restrictions or channels are costing you money. Unlike outsourcing, I do not make your daily decisions; your team does, with a better plan.
This is my view of Gotland. Gotland runs on two famous weeks and a Swedish summer in between. Almedalen brings politicians, lobbyists and journalists to Visby around the turn of June and July, and Medieval Week fills the walled town in early August. Every guest arrives by ferry or plane, so bookings follow ferry capacity. I set event weeks first, then build the family summer around them.
For a Gotland owner I review last summer's booking dates against the event weeks and the ferry, show where demand was underpriced, and write a season plan with Almedalen, Medieval Week and July each set apart. It suits owners who handle their own bookings but want an outside view before opening next summer.
The service in general is described on my hotel revenue management consulting page; this page covers how I apply it in Gotland.
